The Basics of the Network Marketing System

By Ken Cobb

Network marketing systems have their root in this country going back to the late sixties. It was at that time when some people got together and realized that their products might sell better if they took them directly to the consumer rather than put them into catalogs and stores. Of course, this was not a new idea. Salespeople had been around for a long time, traveling door to door with their wares. The difference was, these people would not be selling directly for the company. Rather, they would buy into the company and create their own, smaller company–a small fiefdom for each town. People scoffed at the system, as it was primarily designed for housewives and other uneducated individuals. How were these people going to run their own little businesses without any training. It was a grand success, however, and even today MLM and network marketing systems are going strong.

Today, many of the biggest product names on the market are being sold through the network marketing system. For the companies, it is a chance to sell their wares and get them out to the public without the exorbitant overhead of placing them in stores or opening their own outlets. There is also the personal interaction and salesmanship that selling on the internet can never replace. Without the cost of overhead and without the need to spend a lot of money on advertising, the companies are about to give enormous discounts and commissions to members of their marketing team, making network marketing one of the hottest trends in employment.

If you’ve been thinking about getting into the network marketing world but aren’t sure what it would mean to you, here are some of the primary advantages. First of all, you’re no longer working nine to five, slaving away in a cubicle for a boss that doesn’t care and an inflexible schedule and a dead end career path. Network marketing frees you from all of those limitations. Your schedule will be yours again, and you can mold it and weave it into any shape you desire. You no longer have to wear what the boss wants you to wear. You no longer have to answer to a boss at all.

Unlike many jobs, where your performance may not be enough to get you a raise, network marketing will allow you to earn as much or as little as you want. The success of your business will depend entirely on how dedicated you are to its success. If you put in the hard work and energy, your reward will come in the form of a bigger paycheck. If you put in a moderate amount of work, you will get a moderate amount back. Name another job where your income is so intrinsically attached to your own merit. If you’ve been unhappy about the way you've been held back at your job, then network marketing may be just the thing to give you wings and allow you to soar to greater heights than you’ve ever dreamed possible.

Target Your Customers Through Online Advertising

By Ken Cobb

The most effective way to advertise your business is to ensure that your advertising methods are reaching your target customers. No matter the amount of money you spend or how extensive your advertisements reach, if they are not suited to the prospective customers you are trying to reach then you have failed. Advertising is all about providing the specific customer with what they are searching for in a way that is pleasing and attractive to the eye. They may or may not actually need this product or service but if your advertisement is well thought out, they are likely to buy.

Children see thousands of toys on television commercials throughout the year and every toy is shouted out, as an" I want!” This is great advertising. This is what you want to do for your own advertising campaign. One of the most successful advertising methods today is Internet advertising. You can reach people of every class, religion, race and social class. You can draw in men, women or children. You can reach your target audience the easiest through this method as the Internet has become a daily used tool for everyone.

So how do you begin? The simplest way is to set up a basic website offering product or service details along with contact information such as email. Once this is in place you can use several different advertising methods depending on your budget. One of the quickest and quite affordable methods is the PPC or pay-per-click advertising. You create an ad using your specific keywords and your ad as well as your website link will appear as the keywords you chose are searched by possible customers. Your ad will appear to the right hand side of the provided listings. When a customer clicks on your add you pay a minimum amount for this. If the viewer does not click on your ad, but later chooses to view your site, you have just received free advertising.

You can also use services that provide a banner ad. Your advertisement will appear on a site in an ad box. This can be still or scrolling depending once again on your business budget. You can also advertise through services such as AdSense. This is an advertising service through Google where your keywords are linked to an affiliate site in which your ad will appear on. For example if you offer a babysitting tips site your ad may appear on a craft site or other children linked site. You will never appear on a competitor’s site. This is a helpful method to increase traffic to your site as well.

There are numerous advertising methods from emailing newsletters to viral ads with video and audio. Doing some business research on Internet advertising can open your eyes to a million effective advertising methods. It’s a matter of trial and error to see which adds are the most effective and which others are not worth your time. By advertising this way you can reach clients across the globe and do so from your home office. Advertising online is a must for the serious entrepreneur.

The Importance Of Networking

By Ken Cobb

It is very important that you are able to do the networking that you can when you are running your home business. Remember that networking is something that everyone should always be concentrating on, but with a home business it is very important. This is because networking can be the best way for you to get something for nothing, and to help others as well.

Many people think that networking is just a way to make friends and business colleagues. It is a way to do these things ,but it is also much more important than you might think. In reality, networking is something that you can do in order to get more than you bargained for. Remember that each person who has a home business or an online business is good at something – this is why they have the business that they do. Being good at something is often the reason that they are successful. You can add the things that you are good at to the list, and each of the home businesses can help each other out. For instance, if you are terrible at web design, yet alright at writing web content, why not network with someone who is great at web design but cannot write content. You can make deal with that person, and you can write their content while they design your page.

There are other ways that you can take advantage of networking. If you need photographs but cannot do them well, you can network with someone who does good photographs. Then you can find something that you can do to offer them your services, which will help them. Networking is all about finding ways that you can get help, by adding your help to the mix as well.

There are also important reasons to network if you have a home business. When you are dealing with taxes and other legal issues, it is always a good idea to have people you can turn to with questions. You don't want to have to search for the answers to all of your questions online, and finding people that have answers might be one of the best ways that you can help yourself. By networking with people who can help you understand the things that you don't know, this is less that you have to worry about and less that you have to pay for.

Networking is also a great way to make business connections. If you network with people who are not your competitors, you can refer them to your friends and they can refer people to you. Having a network means that everyone is going to benefit. You can see what the other people are up to, get tips and understand things more, and you will hopefully get more business as time goes on. This is a very important step towards being able to fully market yourself. Working together as a team is always better than working alone, and you can do this with a network.

The Importance Of Creating A Home Business Plan

By Ken Cobb

When going into a home based business, it is like any other business venture and should be treated as such. A business plan is a necessity for any business large or small as it assists you in setting up your company and allows you to remain focused on your original business goals. The purpose of your business plan is to assist you in gaining focus over what your company is and where you want it to go. It also allows outside business acquaintances to have an understanding of your company and your product in a short amount of time.

A business plan is not required but it can affect the way outside acquaintances view your business and your motives. You are taken more seriously if you take the time to tell people what your company is. For example you are a children’s story manufacturer. You should provide your name, which should be interesting and easily remembered. Tell these acquaintances what you are offering and how you plan to get your product out to the consumer. Speak of your profit projections as well as expenditures and losses. Allow people to know what your budget is, where the costs are going and where you plan to get funds for your business start up. Inform people of your goals for this business for the next year as well as two years in the future. You do not have to be exact, as you cannot foresee the future, remember these are goals. All of this information can make those around you be more apt to loan you the money you need or for clients to insist in being involved more quickly.

A business plan is not only helpful when it comes to outside acquaintances but is useful to your employees as an incentive to put forth effort to make this business succeed. Your business plan will also allow you to remain focused. If you are struggling to reach a goal review your business plan. It may spark ideas on how to adjust your business function to reach that goal. You may find that the original goals can be altered to create a new business goal. Your home business plan can also be useful in the event of an illness or death. Your company may be handed down to a relative and your business plan can provide them with a basic company overview. There are numerous reasons why a business plan is important to your home business.

You do not have to have your business plan drawn up by a professional as you can use software that provides a basic guideline or template for business plan creation. Simply provide the necessary details and information and you will have your business plan created in a matter of minutes. A short amount of time to create a long term business tool that will prove time and time again how great of an asset your business plan is to your home business.

The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing

By Ken Cobb

Outsourcing is a popular means of acquiring other professionals to take on tasks that one alone does not have the time or patience to do, especially when schedules are packed tightly with obligations and other mental preocupations. Delegating work is an agent’s or employer’s primary concern, but outsourcing, as the term implies, refers to going out of the group or company for assistance. As inferred, outsourcing has its advantages and its disadvantages; no practice is perfect.

Befitting as the advantage of utilizing outsourcing is that quality is ensured because specialists who are commissioned know what they are doing and will add a level of sophistication to their job as a result. These professionals can spend time concentrating on a specific aspect of the business venture, such as web design, bookkeeping, press or promotional writing, logo development, even advertisement. When each of these is emphasized independently, a more thorough job is done, and through the insight of someone who is talented in that specific area. Outsourcing this way ultimately brings a positice image to the agency or company, providing greater opportunities for further business and ultimately an increase in financial gain that benefits everyone involved.

This arrangement does have its setbacksm however, namely increased company expenses and profit sharing. The first naturally requires paying higher rates to an independent professional that would add to the overhead. Stress, of course, comes about this way as well. Having debt is not enjoyable at all, and can even be constraining, especially when adding to that debt is unavoidable. Ironic it is that outsourcing creates more than that it was purposed to minimize. Although everyone does get a piece of the pie, so-to-speak, profit sharing, by nature, means that each person in the company gets less of a percentage of the overall profit because the number of those taking part in the venture is higher due to the inclusion of professionals hired through outsourcing. Because of this, bonuses and salary increases are held back until business picks up, and even then such incentives, or the amount of such incentives, are not 100% guaranteed.

The bottom line is, though, that outsourcing does ensure better quality in the tasks done, which benefits everyone in the end, despite the short-term adversion. Most of those who are involved likely appreciate outsourcing because it reduces personal stress by removing an overwhelming load of work from each person’s shoulders, allowing for greater room to breathe and enhancement in each worker’s overall perfomance.

Outsourcing, however, is continuing to develop conceptually in many ways and become more sophisticated along with businesses that employ it. Expansion allows room for flexibility and creativity, which is necessary for success; if policy is to stiff, nothing can move up and therefore nothing can ever happen. This is the ultimate consideration when it comes to outsourcing because, in the end, such room to fly, such room encourage new ideas, is essential for business growth, which is one of the primary objectives toward which everyone is directed and focused. This is what outsourcing is ultimately intended to do, and this is why many business owners insist on initiating the practice.

The Home Office Can Be A Lonely Place To Work

By Ken Cobb

It has often been said that it is lonely at the top and when you own your own business, the owner generally lacks a lot of friends on the job. No business leader wants people who work for them to consider them as their friend as that kind of relationship can quickly sink a business. Objectivity in decisions can be overshadowed by friendship and when tough business decisions have to be made, a friendship can get in the way of doing the right thing for the business.

Fortunately, with most home businesses the owner is the only employee and there is little opportunity to allow personal ties to get in the way of doing your job. However, working at home can be a lonely time since there are no others to talk to and no one else to bounce ideas off as strategies are developed to improve the business.

Many hours will probably be spent completely alone while you work and when someone else does come through the door, chances are you will want to greet them and talk about anything under the sun, simply happy to have some company. Regardless of your pre-defined work schedule, you will find that you are willing to break the schedule just to spend some time with another human being.

To help break the monotony of working alone all day, try keeping the radio on in the background. Not so loud that it becomes a distraction, but when you pause for a few second in your work, you can hear the sound in the background. It is not recommended to have the television on for background noise as it can too easily distract you, drawing your attention to what appears to be an interesting program and away from your work.

Having a pet in the house can offer a few seconds of company, provided you do not start treating them like workers, expecting them to get you a refill on your coffee or soda. They can be nice to have around for an occasional diversion, and usually they are more then willing to leave you alone with your work as long as they get fed on time. Keeping yourself focused on the job at hand will serve two purposes. First, it will allow you to get the work done when it is promised and second, when you work steadily it makes the day go faster.

You will also have to avoid the pitfalls associated with working for yourself and by yourself in creating diversions to break up your day. Filing may need to be done and the computer screen may need cleaning, but you will have work to do that you promised to complete by a deadline. Allowing other diversions to break into that concentration can quickly cause the work at home ship to sink.

Yes, it is lonely at the top, especially so if you are the only one working for the company. One thing to remember however, is that while you may be the only one in the office performing any type of work, there is also no one else with whom to share the profits.

The Next Generation Of Network Marketing Professionals

By Kenn Cobb

Finding opportunities in network marketing is not as difficult as most believe it to be. Finding the opportunities that can allow you to realize a decent income without being scammed are the ones that may be hard to find. Conducting an internet search for network marketing usually results in two obvious results. One, is many people offering to sell you information about multilevel network marketing and the other are opportunities for you to invest in a program that really does not offer any future.

There are however two great ways to find the opportunity in network marketing that can lead to a substantial income while offering an honest opportunity for success. With network marketing being so popular these days, there is a good chance you know someone who is one program or another and they most likely would welcome the chance to discuss their program with you. Chances are also good they will try to recruit you into the program. That is part of what they do.

You will have to judge their success and their motivations on your own. If you believe they are really successful in their endeavors and are making an honest living through their network marketing plan, it may be worth looking into. However, if the program has any aspects that make you feel uncomfortable, you should probably thank them for their time and walk away.

One of the sure-fire methods of finding a program that is right for you is to look at your own buying habits. If you buy anything online on a regular basis, there is a good chance it was purchased through a multilevel marketing campaign. If it is a product or service that regularly buy and use and find yourself a regular customer, ask if there is a good market for what you are buying and using.

You are already aware of the value you are receiving with your purchase and hoe hard will it be to explain it to someone else? Some of the best sales professionals began their careers as users of a product or service and now make their living helping others discover the same things that you enjoy.

After years in network marketing, most professionals realize that it is easier to sell a product than it is to sell an idea or a promise. People want something for their money that they can hold, see, feel or smell and most of the promises they have come across may not have a pleasing odor. Once they use a product they may be more inclined to show an interest in being a distributor, even if only for the chance to buy at wholesale.

Allowing your contacts to become familiar with the products they will be trying to sell helps introduce them into your line of work. Once they realize how easy it was for them to like the product, chances are they will be asking you to be a distributor in stead of running away when they see you coming. In today’s network marketing industry the new professionals know that if they can sell the product, they can sell the plan.
